Worship
services at peace are a mix of traditional and contemporary elements. We utilize
a variety of instruments, including organ, piano, flutes, oboes, saxophone, guitars and drums. We
also incorporate choral ensembles, children's sermons, and drama into our
liturgical worship experience. We celebrate Holy Communion at both Sunday
morning services each week.
Sunday School
- Currently, we are offering a range of educational opportunities for children,
youth, and adults on Sunday mornings. Kindergarten - 6th Grade - Rotational
Sunday School Curriculum - Students spend three weeks focusing on one lesson,
approaching the subject from various perspectives, including drama, art, and
computer lab. Subjects we have studied include Moses, Martin Luther, and the
Lord's Prayer. 7th/8th Grade - Confirmation Program - Students study the Old and
New Testaments on Sunday morning. During the school year, they also meet on
Wednesday evenings to learn about such subjects as the Apostles' Creed, Ten
Commandments, Lutheran faith, and faith practices. High School - Students meet
together each week to discuss how their faith impacts their daily lives --- at
home, at school, at work, etc. Adult Sunday School - Typically two separate
classes are offered each Sunday. One traditionally focuses on Bible study, while
the other focuses on various topics. Recent ones have included Church History,
the Ten Commandments, the birth of Jesus, and spiritual development.
Groups & Organizations
- Peace Lutheran Church hosts a variety of congregational groups. Some of these
include a "no frills" hiking group, a Tuesday morning women's group, a local
Thrivent branch, a TGIF dinner fellowship. We also offer monthly gatherings (2nd
Sunday of the month from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.) for our elementary-aged students
(grades K-6) and our junior and senior high youth.
